A successful start to our Mini Series

10 Jan 2020 by Ian Barnes

Last night we kicked off our Blue Hole Mini Series with Race 1.

What a great group we had take part, with a mixture of new faces, seasoned triathletes and lots of our committee taking part – a mix of juniors teaming up and adults competing as individuals. 42 people took part in tonight’s event which was just awesome to see!

Everyone enjoyed the swim in the safety of the river, with our water safety helping to make sure everyone felt comfortable – thanks to Josephine and Ben for being on our boards this week – and a shout out to Vic Health and #ThisGirlCanVIC for the grant that allowed the club to purchase the boards. The ride a 3 lap circuit and finishing with a run back over the bridge. Lots of happy faces crossing the line in the warm conditions which was fantastic to see. Naticia Varley was first across the line for the ladies and Darren Pearce first across the line in the males.

Everyone enjoyed a BBQ dinner and chat afterwards, thanks for cooking Brett and a shout out to Bakers Delight Warrnambool CBD for the bread.

We look forward to seeing everyone back next week for Round 2! And if you weren’t able to make it along this week – come join us next week – the more the merrier!

Thanks to Ian Barnes for his job as Race Director and to everyone who put their hand up this week to Marshall (Lauren Edney, Michael Koutsoukis, Andrew Nadaraj) – we cant do what we do without you, so cheers!
